Beatriz Nunes Diógenes, J.D., M.A.

Beatriz Diógenes is a lawyer in Brazil. She received her Master of Laws in Constitutional Law from Ceará Federal University, where she acted as a coordinator and member of the research project “Strategies for the Sustainable Management of Plastic Waste in Seas and Oceans: Contributions to a Dialogue Between National, Regional, and International”, and was also a member of the Extension Project “Meeting Points.” As a Master’s student, she was a member of the Research Group Rights of Nature, in connection with the United Nations’ project “Harmony with Nature.” She obtained her legal specialization in Legal Philosophy from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and has co-founded the Petit Comité de Recherche—a Research and academic consulting startup, which was built to have a direct local impact in northeastern Brazil. It is a a space for exchanging academic knowledge through a heartfelt conversation about research, teaching and innovation.

She has experience as a lawyer, technical advisor on the Renewable Energy Committee (ADECE), and as Assistant State’s Attorney in the Municipal Human Resources Development Institute. She is a member of The Dun@ Institute in Law and Technology.

She currently researches plastic marine pollution in the context of the International Environmental Law.
